Thes is the religious capital of the Orcish Warlords. Shamans make pilgrimages to Thes at least once a year. When the hour of worship arrives, all orcs must pray in the direction of Thes, or in Arth's direction if it is known. Thes is said to be the conduit to the gods.
History
Thes was founded by the high shaman of the orcs, long before recorded history. It is said that when Thes was first built, there was a stairway that lead to the gates of the pantheon. When the shaman peered through these gates, he was blinded. In tradition of honoring the god's will, all future high-shamans of Thes, the highest position in the religious sector of the Orcish Warlords, are blinded.
Thes contains many shrines to Arth. In the past, it is said Arth has visited the mortal world multiple times by stepping down from the pantheon into Thes. The orcs have heralded his return as a sign that they, his chosen people, will conquer the world. Each time he has returned, his avatar has been destroyed. It takes centuries for another worthy vessel to be found, and then sacrificed by the orcs.
