Duros

The Mighty Hammer, patron deity of the Dwarves

Alignment: Good

Domains: Earth, protection, resilience, strength, harmony, and prosperity.

Worshipped By: Warriors, blacksmiths, and hardworking commonfolk.

To be able to create strong shining metal from rough ore is nearly a magical process, overseen by none other than Duros. Weapons blessed by Duros are said to strike true and be incredibly resilient. Mortals invoke his blessings on their ploughshares, hoes, rakes, pots, pans, cauldrons, and other items used to increase their quality of life. The day-to-day life of peasants and hardworking folk is recognized and championed by Duros, and they attribute their prosperity and resilience to him.

Duros sits alongside Varos at the head of the pantheon. He is fair, just, and level-headed, and often speaks up for minorities. Because Duros is good-aligned and a very active member of the pantheon, he is frequently worshipped alongside other deities by humans. Dwarves keep great wrought-iron statues of Duros and other iconography of him in their cities, forges, and homes.
