Tristia Renbran

History

Tristia Renbran is the highest ranking member of Dwarven society, which is a militocracy. This has made her achieve the rank and position of queen-regnant. The dwarves have lived under martial law for so long, that the next highest ranking general becomes ruler after the previous dies. This has prevented lineage from determining rulership, and has resulted in the strengths of a meritocracy, with the checks and balances of a military hegemony.

She began her life as a common farmer, and was an eager patriot of her people. She wanted to fight in wars long past, glorifying the honor and history of her people. A student of history, she is ever-distrustful of elves, and wary of current alliances that may try to turn on her people, or ask for a heavier cost than the benefit they provide.

She is considered by her people to be the best ruler the dwarves have had since King Lokkhan. Her rule has made the Dwarven nation grow prosperous, and prevented the Dark Dwarves from gaining any influence in Snowpeak, their capitol city.

That said, her people are also wary of the martial law they have been living under. Having joined the Confederacy quite some time ago, there are many who openly challenge that her xenophobia and anti-democratic practices are unwarranted. She challenges that her actions towards other nations are not based on a hatred for them, but a deep love for her own people, that she is charged to protect.
