Markus Thrain was a nobleman by birth, and served as an ambassador to Snowpeak in his early life. When he later became a senator, he strived to also learn to be a great warrior to further his political power. His prowess is known far and wide as being deadly with both a shield and a sword.
In his past, he once faced off in a duel with one of the deadliest warriors in Thrain, in the grand colosseum. His victory came after one hour of fighting, and it left him with a scar on his face.
Markus Thrain was thought lost when his ship capsized off the coast of Vestia, but he miraculously survived somehow. In reality, Hejong the god of war has become Markus Thrain after Kerrigor the god of death allowed them to meet in the afterlife. Hejong plans to unite humanity and the rest of the Confederacy to counter the efforts of Arth and Vandun, the renegade gods.
