Overview
Vestia is the Sun Elf capital city. It is a sprawling metropolis of white stone buildings, terraces, and archways. In its center is a giant palace where the rulers of the Sun Elf empire, the Dawnwalkers, live. Vestia and its surrounding lands are collectively known as the "Kingdom of the Sun".
Millions of Sun Elves are settled in Vestia and its outskirts. The capital is home to world-renown universities, libraries, performing arts centers, heritage sites, stables, temples, and artisans. It is known for the rich artistry of its people and sheer beauty. Vestia's buildings are some of the tallest, most magnificently decorated in the world.
City Life
The Dawnwalkers have several societal programs to support their people. Any who oppose the Dawnwalker regime quickly and quietly fade from public eye, resulting in a capital where most people think alike and keep the peace. Life satisfaction among citizens is high.
Vestia frequently celebrates festivals. The two most-worshipped deities are Varos and Anashta. There are three Courts in the city -- large areas dedicated to specific groups of people. These courts are called the Court of the Sea, Sky, and Sun.
The King's Imperial Army trains on Vestia's outskirts, where there are several barracks, stables, and other military structures. Vestia is incredibly well-protected by a large border wall which its army resides inside.
Places of Interest
Aurephir Academy - A prominent university dedicated to the study of arcana. Mages, sorcerers, and others study here. Rival to Vanthrell Academy.
Barracks - There are about one hundred military buildings scattered across Vestia's outskirts, housing soldiers, chariot archers, mounts, and other troops. Warpriests and other magic users are employed in the army.
Court of the Sea - The Sea Court encompasses Vestia's docks, which are run by merchants and traders. A Harbormaster oversees the Court of the Sea and reports to the King and Queen. It's rumored his wife is a selkie.
Court of the Sky - Paladins run the Court of the Sky, which is focused on judiciary duties. Financial institutions, courthouses, jails, welfare distributors, food banks, and other official government buildings are settled in the Court of the Sky.
Court of the Sun - Vestia's aristocrats and palace workers live here.
Crafter's Paradise - Vestia has several markets in several areas of the city, but the largest is below the palace between the Court of the Sun and the general population. Elvish artisans from all over the city sell their impressive wares here.
The Royal Palace - One of the architectural marvels of Ilisara is the royal palace of Vestia. It is the home of the Dawnwalker family, who has ruled the Sun Elves since the beginning of recorded history. 30-foot tall marble statues of each family member adorn the courtyard.
Varos' Home Temple - The largest temple dedicated to Varos in the world. It looks like an elvish cathedral decorated in gold, red, and white. Priests, clerics, and paladins work here.
Vanthrell Academy - A prominent university dedicated to the study of mythology and religion. Priests, clerics, and paladins study here. Rival to Aurephir Academy.
