Winterheart

Overview

The city of Winterheart dominates a vast expanse atop the tallest mountains in the southern Snowfell Mountains known as the Path of Stars. The Path of Stars is lit at night by a clever series of enchanted mirrors that collect and reflect moon and starlight. It is eight miles long and nearly as wide, with Winterheart as its crown. Winterheart is the Dark Elf capital city.

Winterheart is the most influential and cosmopolitan of all dark elf cities. Ruled by five noble clans, Winterheart crouches at the center of a web of alliances and rivalries, hidden plots, and ancient traditions that reach through an untold number of tunnels and caverns beneath the world, and on its craggy surface. Beneath the capital’s towering obsidian spires, the Dark Dwarves have built a massive underground system where many Dark Elves live during the day to escape the sun. Most of Winterheart’s inhabitants are awake at night.

Ruling Clans

The real power in Winterheart (and by extension, most of southern Snowfell) resides in the leaders of the clans. All the ruling clans are webbed in intrigue so thick that no one dark elf or spymaster knows all the ruses and conspiracies in play at any one time.
