History
Before the sacrifice of Esk, the middle sea between Isandor and Hellan was a constant traffic lane of ships. Merchants used the sea to traverse the great islands faster. Nations sent their warships across the sea to flank their enemies. However, when Esk sacrificed himself, the Veil descended and sunk every ship traveling across the lanes.
Some legends say that the Mermaids have a city on the border of the Veil. Most are skeptical of this legend, for the veil pierces through the water itself. How could they possibly have a city on the edge of such chaos?
Gameplay Considerations
The Veil acts as a way for players to bring characters from other worlds to Ilisara. This lets you keep characters from other games or campaigns.
